Why Ridgeline Raw Exists

Ridgeline Raw didn't start as a business plan. It started as a need.
I've always felt the world deeply, its textures, its quiet moments, the spaces in between things. I never wanted loud or distracting things, or flashing things. I want grounded. Honest. Something that let the land, the materials, and the moment speak without being overwhelmed by noises.
I'm a single mom, self-taught in many creative fields, and deeply rooted in a life shaped by small towns, open land, country, mountains and making things with my hands. City life was never for me. I grew up where space mattered, where you notice the weather, where the pace is slower and the intention carries more weight. That way of living never left me.
Ridgeline Raw is where all of that comes together.
Photography, jewelry, crochet items and handmade goods are simply different expressions of the same instinct, to create things that feel steady, tactile, and real. Whether it's a quiet black-and-white photograph, or a pair of earrings with stones, a hand-crocheted piece or something as simple as soap or chapstick, everything I make is meant to feel lived-in, not overworked, or overly produced like a production company.
Crochet, especially, has always been about rhythm and patience for me. A challenge. Stitch by stitch, it teaches you to slow down, to pay attention, and to let the process matter as much as the outcome. That same approach carries through all of my work, by small batches that are intentional choices, and respect for the materials being used.
I'm largely self-taught. Over the years, I've learned through trial and error, through seasons of growth and seasons of struggles. There were times I had to start over, to hit hard ground and find my footing and place again. Those experiences shaped how I view the world, how I work now, with humility, persistence and a deep appreciation for progress that comes honestly.
The outdoors has always been my reset. The land doesn't rush. It doesn't ask for perfection. It just exists. Layered and textured, shaped by time. That is the energy I am aiming to carry into everything under Ridgeline Raw.
This brand isn't about trends or mass production. It is about small batches, intentional work, and creating space, visually, physically and mentally. Pieces meant to be worn, used, or viewed without distraction. Pieces that feel calm, grounded, and quietly strong.
At its heart, Ridgeline Raw is also about building something that is lasting. My hope is that one day this work, the skills and the values with the care behind it can be passed on to my children. Not just as a business, but with the same values and a way of creating, paying attention, and staying connected to the land and to what matters.
Ridgeline Raw is for those who find beauty in restraint, who value texture over polish, and who understand that some things don't need to shout to be meaningful.
Thank you for being here, and for supporting something built slowly, honestly and with care.
